19 NIGHT / 20 DAY PACKAGE

CAPE TOWN / GARDEN ROUTE / KRUGER NATIONAL PARK / SUN CITY / JOHANNESBURG  

DAY ONE  

On your arrival at Johannesburg International Airport you will be met and vouchers will be exchanged.  You will then be directed to the Domestic departures where you will check in for your flight to Cape Town .  On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel / guesthouse where assistance to check in will be offered.  Rest of the day at leisure. (B)  

DAY TWO

Today enjoy the Table Mountain & Cape Peninsula tour.  This tour includes a trip to the top of the world-renowned Table Mountain (Subject to weather conditions), visit to Hout Bay and a visit to the Seal Island as well as the Penguin Colony (also subject to weather conditions).  The highlight of the tour is viewing where the Indian & Atlantic oceans meet.  Return to hotel / guesthouse and enjoy the evening at leisure.  (B)  

DAY THREE  

Today you can enjoy a visit to The Castle as well as a tour of Roben Island (subject to weather conditions).   The rest of the afternoon can be spent at leisure to explore and enjoy some shopping at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.  (B).  

DAY FOUR  

Today you will be collected from your hotel for your Cape Winelands Tour.  This is a full day tour that includes a visit to Stellenbosch where you can enjoy a cellar tour and view the whole winemaking process.  You will later be given the chance to explore “Oom Siamese Winkel” where you can browse amongst hundreds of antiques.  After the tour is finished you will be returned to your hotel / guesthouse where you may spend the evening at leisure. (B).  

DAY FIVE  

Today enjoy a full day tour to Hermanus and travel along the Whale Route .  The best time of year to visit is August through to November.  See the miracle of nature as the Antarctic whales come into Walker Bay to calve.  Enjoy an optional lunch stop in Hermanus.  Return to the hotel / guesthouse for the evening via False Bay .(B)

DAY SIX  

We depart from CapeTown and travel to Worcester via DuToit’s Kloof Mountain pass. At Worcester we visit the fascinating open air museum, a live and interesting exhibition dedicated to the farming community. Lunch is arranged at a restaurant in Montagu.

We then travel through the mountains to the Little Karoo. Changing scenery from lush farmland to semi-desert areas, makes this a day of surprises. A warm welcome awaits us from the staff of the Riempies Estate Hotel where we overnight. (B, L ,D)  

DAY SEVEN  

Awake to the freshness of the Karoo air. After a good breakfast we visit the world famous Cango Caves , where we take a fascinating guided tour lasting over an hour. We set off to the Crocodile and Cheetah farm, to see these prehistoric reptiles and cats.   

Even more fascinating is the Highgate Ostrich farm where we stop for a tour and lunch. The afternoon brings us over the mountains, through George and Wilderness en route to Knysna. Our overnight stay is on the water’s edge at the Knysna Quays Hotel. (B, L, D)  

DAY EIGHT  

After a leisurely breakfast you will have some time to spend on your own in the quaint village of Knysna . Alternatively our guide will take you to the Garden of Eden to show you the heart of the Garden Route . Late morning we set sail on the Knysna Lagoon aboard a private catamaran. Sailing is one of the traditional modes of transport in this area and you will be able to enjoy a spectacular view of the area before we return to Knysna for lunch.

We then join a real steam train which travels along one of the world’s most picturesque rail routes to George. After arrival in George our guide will transfer you to the King George Hotel . Sleep well aftera full and exciting day. (B, L, D)  

DAY NINE  

After breakfast, we depart for Mossel Bay along the scenic coastal route. At Mossel Bay we visit the historic Post Office Tree where early navigators left mail for the homebound ships to Europe . Our route to Swellendam, which is full of romantic history, is via farmlands and rolling hills. In the afternoon our route takes us through charming Hermanus, seaside retreat of the wealthy and famous. We arrive back in CapeTown after four fabulous days!  Overnight in Cape Town for one night. (B, L).  

DAY TEN

Today you will transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Johannesburg .  On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel / guesthouse for one night. (B)  

DAY ELEVEN  

Today you will check out of your hotel / guesthouse and will be transferred to the

Kruger National Park for two nights.  Depart by air-conditioned microbus

from Johannesburg and travel east through the highveld farmlands and

Mpumalanga mountains. Stops will be made en-route at the historical gold rush

town of Pilgrim ’s Rest, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and the Three Rondawels.

Refreshment and lunch stops will also be made before arriving at

Mohlabetsi Safari Lodge, situated in the Balule Game Reserve, for overnight.

Enjoy an exciting open landrover drive - looking for the elusive nocturnal animals.

Dinner will be served in the ‘Boma’ under the stars. (B, D)  

MOHLABETSI SAFARI LODGE

This intimate game lodge is set in the Balule Nature Reserve, adjoining the Kruger National Park . Guests are personally welcomed to this oasis in the bush which offers rustic thatched en-suite rondawels, set amongst shady trees and a sparkling pool. A thatched lapa overlooks a waterhole where guests watch the animals come to drink. Game drives and foot safaris reveal a variety of wildlife and birds and at night, the sounds of the lion, hyaena and jackal create the ambience of Africa, as you enjoy superb campfire dinners in the ‘boma’ under the stars.  

DAY TWELVE  

Up at sunrise and out of the Lodge for your first game drive in the Kruger National Park, before your ‘bush’ breakfast.  (B, D)  

KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

The world-renowned Kruger National Park offers a wildlife experience that ranks with the best in Africa. Established in 1898 to protect the wildlife of the South African Lowveld, this national park of nearly 2 million hectares, is unrivalled in the diversity of its life forms and a world leader in advanced environmental management techniques and policies.  Truly the flagship of the South African national parks, Kruger is home to an impressive number of species: 336 trees, 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 507 birds and 147 mammals. Man's interaction with the Lowveld environment over many centuries - from bushman rock paintings to majestic archaeological sites like Masorini and Thulamela - is very evident in the Kruger National Park. These treasures represent the cultures, persons and events that played a role in the history of the Kruger National Park and are conserved along with the park's natural assets.  

Game viewing for the rest of the day, interrupted only with a stop for lunch. You are all eyes to catch that special shot with your camera that will always be treasured.  Leave the park and on to Moholoholo Forest Camp, at Mariepskop, for overnight.  Arrive in time for the evening open landrover drive and dinner in the ‘Boma’.

MOHOLOHOLO FOREST CAMP

Situated in the midst of a rain forest which is surrounded by Acacia woodland, nestling on the slopes of ‘the very great one’ known as Mariepskop in the majestic north eastern lowveld Drakensberg mountains.

One of the special features of  the Forest Camp is the open viewing terrace, which overlooks the forest. A large variety of forest animals such as Nyala, Red Duiker, Bush Buck, Samango Monkeys and Bush Pigs can be watched as the browse the forest floor and visit the waterhole. A maximum of 16 people can be accommodated in 8 well-appointed and secluded log and thatch en suite chalets, providing the ultimate retreat. Delicious home cooked meals are served in either the reed boma around a log fire or in the thatched dining room, which is also ideal as a small conference facility. 

The Wildlife Rehabilitation Center at Moholoholo contributes positively to the conservation of endangered species and the rehabilitation of injured and poisoned wildlife. Endangered cervals are bred here and released back into the wilds.  

DAY THIRTEEN  

Up at daybreak for your morning walk in the bush: an opportunity for you to get

closer to nature, followed by a hearty leisurely breakfast back at the Lodge, and a

guided tour of the exciting and informative Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, where

vulture feeding is often a part of the programme.  A lunch and refreshment stop

will be made en-route arriving back in Johannesburg in the late afternoon where

you will overnight for 2 nights. (B)   

DAY FOURTEEN  

Today you will return to Johannesburg where you will overnight for one night. (B).  

DAY FIFTEEN  

Today you will transfer to Sun City where you will overnight for two nights. (B)  

 DAY SIXTEEN  

Explore Sun City at leisure today. (B)  

DAY SEVENTEEN  

Today you will transfer to your hotel in Johannesburg for 3 nights.  Enjoy an optional visit to Monte Casino which you can arrange at your hotel. (B).  

DAY EIGHTEEN  

Enjoy a morning excursion to Gold Reef City.  Enjoy an afternoon tour of Soweto where you can visit the biggest city in Southern Africa steeped in apartheid history and the most televised township in the world.  See the houses of the wealthy cheek by jowl with the tin shacks of the poor.  Return to hotel and spend afternoon at leisure. (B).  

DAY NINETEEN  

Travel to Lesedi Cultural Village today where one will experience how the Zulu, Ndebele, Sotho and Pedi tribes differ on the tour.  A taste of traditional beer and sample tribal dancing can be experienced.  Spend the remainder of the afternoon at leisure. (B).  

DAY TWENTY  

Transfer to Johannesburg International Airport in time for your flight home.
